Science-
We have been studying the effects of zebra mussels on our lakes and the impact of zebra mussels on each of Earth’s systems. Students will have a quiz next week about how each of the Earth’s systems interact with each other and the impact of zebra mussels. The quiz will be open note and most likely take place on Thursday.
Math-
I am amazed by the determination and hard work of our students this year! We have been working on writing equivalent fractions, comparing fractions, and changing mixed numbers to improper fractions and back again. All of this prepares us for what comes next...adding and subtracting fractions with uncommon denominators. We will be having a math quiz next week on Tuesday. A practice test/study guide will be coming home today (Friday).

Last week our word was integrity and our Wonders of the Week were Noel Myers and Kyleigh A. This week our word was determination and our Wonders are .
STEM Team Time Activity
This week for team time students are planning a design for a container that can keep a raw egg from cracking when dropped from ceiling height. They will be given paper, tape, a balloon, and to build their contraption. Additionally they may bring 4 other items from home to add to the design. We plan on building our contraptions next Friday, so any materials from home will need to be in by that date (October 11)
