Conferences
Our conferences this year are on Wednesday, November 15, from 4:00 to 7:30. You may drop in anytime during that time frame. Conferences are student led and your child will be the one discussing strengths, accomplishments and goals with you. Please note that this an open forum where many families will be meeting at once. It is a time to celebrate progress and discuss goals with your child. If you have a concern you would like to discuss with the teachers in a more private setting, please contact us to set something up
Flower Bulbs
Flower bulbs were sent home last week. Please have money for the bulbs returned by Friday, October 28.
Language Arts and Social Studies
Notice and Note - students are now working on applying these skills on their own in their independent reading books. The Notice and Note Signpost booklet is due on Friday, October 28. The front of the booklet has information explaining each signpost and can be used as a reference while reading. The book does not need to be finished. This is a during reading activity rather than a culminating activity.
Personal Narrative Writing - we will be beginning a writing unit this week. Most of the work will be completed in class. Students will be writing a about a personal experience and incorporating elements of narrative writing including plot, figurative language and dialogue.
Social Studies - We did not count the chapter 3 assessment as a summative grade. Students completed a reflection of the assessment and set goals for improvement on chapter 4. The assessment for chapter 4 will be Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Students will complete a study guide for review on Monday and Tuesday.
